Mauritshuis
| The Mauritshuis in The Hague was built for Maurits van Nassau Siegen, a cousin of the statholders, and governor of Dutch Brazil. The building was designed by the famous architect Jacob van Campen, who also built Amsterdam's royal palace. It is a fine example of Dutch classical architecture, with its brick and stone decorations and strict classical orders. The Mauritshuis is a museum for dutch 17th century paintings now. | ![]() |
